I'm changing my switch housings to chrome. see thread (with other responces when asked if there was anything i needed to watch out for) ---> https://www.hdforums.com/m_1338058/tm.htm
i did the left side, took maybe 10 minutes. it went smooth and EASY, but the right side isn't.
is there a special tool that i need to use to disconnect the Ferrules.? if a special tool isn't needed, how can i take them off, any suggestions.?

It's easy, you just need to be patient with the Ferrules at the end of the Throttle and Idle cables. Everything fits tightly in the housing so you also need to be mindful of where the wires and pull-ties go. And don't forget to use a shim between the brake light switch and brake lever before disassembling housing.
There are two retaining rings (C-clips) holding them in. Try pushing the cables up into the lower housing and you should expose the clips and be able to get them off.
You mention the ferrules, but the arrows are pointing to the retaining rings. If I understand you correctly, you are trying to remove the throttle and idle cable from the housing. If this is the case, place a drop of oil on the retaining rings, and while rocking the elbow on the end of the cables back and forth, pull them out. They are even easier to put back. They just snap back in. Hope this helps.

Another thing you might watch is the rubber boot on the brake light switch. They tear rather easy and if you do tear one, you have to cut it out of the harness and solder a new one on.
Pain in the butt, I know, I did it...
Ok, that explains why I didn't remember taking the clips off. I thought I just pulled them out but then looked at the manual (which I had not done previously). I guess I just pulled them out after all.
