I agree, its just like my new Chevy Truck.. The more I look I find that there are a lot of others that look just like mine.
Actually The BR's 2-2 are really good performance pipes, at least my Sons dyno's proved to be that way on his 07 Duece. They were 15% better in the lower rpms (2k-3.K rpms) than the BSL's that he put on his 09 NT.
Have watched dozens of breakout clips and noticed 90% of them have big radius pipes. Just seems like an overwhelming majority to me. Nothing against the choice, there are better performers out there obviously, they sound good but come on, all these breakouts are looking the same to me after the pipe and cleaner mod. Big radius/heavy breather, big radius/heavy breather, on and on and on. Lets see some other options fellas?
That was one reason why I didn't go for the Big Radius. But the #1 reason why I didn't go for the Big radius was because I have already heard that system on a Wide Glide and a Blackline. It was just too loud for me.
But yes I hear ya, not just Breakouts, but many other H-D softails have the same system. I didn't want to be like everyone else. However, at the same time, screw it, get it if you like it. You see, I look at it like this, if there are a lot of bikes with the same systems, that's got to mean they are good. I shouldn't have to worry who has what, but I can say this, I have only seen 1 other Breakout driving through my town. So no matter what I do to my Breakout, it's somewhat one of a kind around here.

Hence another reason why I went with the Freedom Performance. I don't blame anyone for making that choice though, it is popular for a reason! They look killer. I had the "swept" style on my last bike though so that is the other reason I opted for something different this go around.
To be honest the only exhausts out there are the BR's, ones that look a LOT like the stockers, or the VH 2 into 1...so you basically have 3 separate looks...thats it!! So yeah...you will see a LOT that look the same when you are looking on the web...because there just isnt much variation. I can say mine is the ONLY one I have seen in person with any aftermarket pipes on it at all!! LOL Its just the way its gonna be with that bike...the straight pipe guys will all look pretty much stock and the modern look guys will either have 2 - 1 or the Big Radius....
I put Big Radius on mine because I loved the way they looked, sounded, and performed on my last chopper...and they didnt disappoint one bit on the Breakout. My only regret so far is that I didnt go with black ones....be damned what everybody else has. Performance wise I dont think you will get much better to be honest...and as far as aesthetics...well there are a metric ***-ton of things that can be done to make the bike unique, the exhaust is just one little piece...so why are people so hung up on it...
Night train Dave ----- where did you grow up ?? I grew up outside of Owen Sound on a Dairy Farm ....
Toronto mostly and some family spread out in spots. I did some sailing in port Dover a few times 1990ish, nice area.
Enjoy the pipes, whichever way you go! And if you love a look and sound then thats the ticket. Personally im a 2into1 performance junkie, my goal has always been to squeeze every drop of tq/hp out of my rides that are maxed out with engine work, with looks and sound in mind of course.
Luckily for me, I actually love the look of the Big Radius 2-1 chrome on the Breakout so that is what I'll be going with. I really don't care if a million people have it ahead of me, I think it is the most attractive option (to me). Something about that curved chrome just speaks to me on this bike.
I agree, thats why I went with the same pipe as I had on my wide glide but went chrome this time because I didn't want to keep up with the black one fading on me.
I think its kinda funny seeing guys complain that there are so many of us with big radius pipes and that they want something different as to not be the same. It kinda sounds like my girlfriend saying I don't want that purse, everyone online has it. Lets be honest its not like we all run into each other every day on our way to work. Who cares if someone has what you have, at least you know your style doesn't suck. That's just my 2c.

Just trying to say..you arent gonna see shark fins, dual sided, special tips, etc.... THere are only so many looks you can get on a breakout...and its not very many...so its not surprising to see so many Big Radius....and the guys with the 2 into one prolly say "man I see so many 2 into 1's!!" LOLOL
You see more Big Radius...cuz they are the BEST!!!

You know, years ago you'd have a decent magazine take a stock bike, like the Breakout, and add a Heavy Breather, SEST, and then do a real test of 5 or more aftermarket pipes and compare them. But now all you get is glorified ads. There's no way to quantify what's best if there's no common baseline.
