Default Deuce Triple Trees

So here is my dilemma, I have a 2001 FXSTD and the top of the triple tree the chrome is starting to bubble. I want to change out the trees instead of rechroming because I want to have poly bushings for the handlebars. If I go aftermarket I will not be able to us my fork lock. The question I have is will a set from a Softail Custom work with the Deuce fork tubes? I talked to my local dealer and he was zero help. I have too much money wrapped in a custom paint job and airbrushed art on the my front fender to go to a complete front end from a FXSTC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will lose some rake I believe, as the stock triples on a deuce are raked. According to my parts book, the FXST and the FXSTD use the same fork tubes.
