Default 2013 slim surging

Hello guys, like the title says i have a 2013 slim w/700miles on it and i have noticed that it surges terribly bad around 1800rpm and up to about 2500. I notice it in lower rpms as well but its not as annoying. It did this slightly off show room floor but has gotten much worse. I can hear and feel it pull and push. Not like lugging. Like it gets power and then taken away. Its like a lean condition in part throttle. Anyways the dealer here says its normal and i have a hard time swallowing this. They want to open exhaust, air, and power tune to make it run like it should. Of course at my expense. What do you guys know of this issue?

Thx for your help.

My dyna did the same thing when it was new and stock. If you don't want to go to the expense of stage one then try some XIED's. (check out nightrider.com) They are right around 100 bucks and they will give your bike a bit more fuel and may make the surge go away

It is normal...not right, but normal. It is lean, per epa regs.

You can look at a 15 minute fix for around a $100 HERE.

Here's a picture of what's going on, and what you can do about it.

I've felt that in my 2013 Heritage, it reminded me of when I was tuning the carb on my 89 FXR. It's definitely a lean condition surge, as soon as I get the funds I'm going to fix it.

Thx for the feedback guys. I will check into them for sure. One more question though. I do plan on getting exhaust, air and a sport tune on it this winter so if i buy this XIED will it be a waste of money since im going with the mods?
