Hogpro, Please answer this question. Normally, I would just blow this off, but you are a forum Sponsor/Vendor so I assume people have a higher regard for your opinion. The information you have posted in this thread could cause damage to an engine. I can appreciate the fact that you have 80k trouble free miles on your engine, but that still does not make this correct.
Basically you have roughly an 1/4" line leaking vacuum. Now, this is unmetered air, so it should not cause a lean condition, but it is a 1/4" unfiltered hole in the throttle body. This would be exactly the same as drilling a 1/4" hole right through the air cleaner. I'm sure you would never condone that.
