Question Battery charge issue

Shortly after buying my used 2006 Fat Boy a couple months ago, the battery ran down until it went flat. I bought a new battery. The mechanic that worked on the bike replaced the stator. This weekend, it went flat again. We took the bike into the mechanic and asked if he misdiagnosed the problem. He checked the charging system, it was slightly over 14 amps. He checked for a drain on the battery with the ignition off, there was no apparent drain. We took the battery to the battery shop, and they said that it held a charge when fully charged and it wasn't a bad battery. What the heck? It's charging. It's not draining. It is a good battery. Yet, it goes flat. What could be happening?

Sounds like someone might be telling a white lie? Assuming you didn't leave the ignition on, something has to be bad. I'm suspect of the battery. You have a battery tender? You have a volt meter? Do the testing yourself, don't take their word for it.

Don't know your riding habits but I have seen this problem with others. They start the bike and only ride 5 miles to work and back. The battery in this situation never really gets a good charge. Just throwing it out there.

I do ride short distances at times, but not lately. I have also been using a battery tender lately. I missed one night and the next morning the battery was dead.

Dead in one day. Damn, really with a discharge like that you would think you would see the draw on a meter with the ignition off.

Hummmmmm...I'd get a second opinion on the battery's 'life' condition. Sounds like it may have a bad cell ?
