Default Custom softail-vs-custom bagger.

1st let me say this thread contains no bragging, I' am just going to tell the story as it unfolded and give all the guys on Softails Cudo's. It was a beautiful riding day yesterday so I got up early and finished detailing my bike out. I then went to a river bar not to far from my house because there are usually tons of bikes there from all over there on the weekends. As I pulled around back to park I seen these same 5 custom baggers sitting right up front, everybody standing around them looking at them, asking questions and the likes.

I didn't want to **** on their parade so I pulled in down to the opposite side of the lot and went and had a beer. Slowly, every single person walked over to my bike and not only looked like they were at the baggers but everyone's cell phones came out for pictures. 20 minutes after I parked, there was not a single person that was standing around the baggers. I am not saying I have the hottest bike, I am not saying my bike was any nicer than those baggers but what I will say is what others say to me about my bike. They don't see many like that, baggers are everywhere!

I showed respect to those baggers and went over to look them over, very nice bikes and talk to those guys. They answered my 1st questions or two then walked away from me and not ONE single guy who owned one of those baggers walked over to look at my bike, not a single one. They were the ONLY people there that did not go look at my bike. They acted like spoiled little brats, got on their bikes and left.

After an hour or so I left to come back in town and hit up bar #2. The bagger guys were at my watering hole in town. I tried once again to be sociable with them and they had nothing to say to me. I then walked up to the guy on the burgundy bagger because he had the 39" Samsons on his bike but it sounded a little different than mine. I asked him if he had baffles or not or if he had them cut and his reply was "I'm not really sure, I don't know"!! Now I do little work on mine because of time and tool issues but damn, at least I know whats on it!

So, Softails 1, Baggers 0. It is what it is.

Also, Softails with bags still fall into the Softail category so I consider you one of "us" and not one of "them"!!

I would have been admiring your bike and ignoring the baggers also. Not really into the custom bagger scene. You have a great looking bike.

sounds like player hatin to me.. both ways .... I love my softail BUT I have installed a tail bagger kit and a king tour pak.. I look like a bagger but im a softail springer and I can tell you with certainty the baggers handle way better and take the weight without issue..they are what they are.. as for the guys ridin them well posers are everywhere right
I have bagger guys droolin at my bike because I can quick detach everything and I have my softail springer again for bar hopin .. best of both worlds

I agree and if you read all that I wrote I classified Softails with the bags and all as still being Softails. I had no problem with the bagger guys, they had some nice bikes but they wanted nothing to do with me or my bike. So now its Softails 2, Baggers 0
