Bought this old softail custom its a 91 it was a complete basket case started to go bobber with it but I like to ride long rides and that ain't comfortable so building it into a bagger. Also building my own bags. Any ideas or suggestions everything I'm doing is budget oriented so would appreciate any suggestions.
after riding several thousand miles on a bagger i gotta say this: a softail aint the same thing as a bagger. Can you comfortably ride 700-800 miles a week? of course but if you add a $2000 decked out quadzilla, $1300 shotgun-shock and $ 500 comfy seat plus cost of the bike wouldnt you be better off buying a bagger.
not what you asked, not what you said at all but my $0.02.
Me, my flstc is awesome and is the best bike on the current market! If i were you i'd buy a comfy seat and find your best feeling position on the seat and floorboards or foot controls but the best advice would be the handlebars. I dont like beach bars but some people swear by 'em.
good luck.
