I have just acquired a 93 softail to possibly do modifications such as pipes, handle bars, and performance upgrades. but it turns out to be a Mooglide.
2700 of them produced and this one is #845 all original and in great condition. Now what should I do. It runs perfect and only has 16k miles on it. If I start tearing down would I be ruining a bike that might be worth something or should I just look for another softail to supe up?
If you do mods just make sure you keep all the original stuff, particularly the seat and don't paint it, then it can always be turned back to a " moo glide " when you sell it.
What in the hell is a MooGlide??? Googling now ....
Nicknamed due to the cowhide trims. If I remember correctly it is the precursor to the Heritage but carries the first FLSTN designator. This picture is from the display at the Harley Davidson Museum
