Go for it ! Of my two bikes, the springer rides like a Cadillac. My Heritage would have to go before I ever let go of the Bones. Plus, I love having the only springer in town !
The person that told you it rides like a jack hammer simply does not know what he is talking about. It is a really stable and nice riding platform.
You are lucky mine is not the only one because I am going to pass it on to my son or grandchild one day.
My favorite softy of all softtail models that I have had.
They are also holding resale pretty well, my dealer actually had a used XB
all stock at the stealership at over $16k!!
You can get a nice clean, low mile one tho for closer to 14-15

well hold on a second I agree with both of you.. I have a crossbones and I know 2 friends with a 2006 springer classic and the other is a 2003 heritage springer and both ride like roller skates .. front ends are dead .. having said that they work fine when maintained properly problem is most don't and they seize up rather quickly.. in 2009 they changed the bottom rocker and the spacer and added a bushing this pretty much eliminates previous issues with the springer.. now I have done a heritage springer front fender swap and have modified the crossbones fender support which is also a spacer .. I have the heritage springer spacer and it will NOT work with the crossbones system without compromising longevity as the axle would go through half the thickness of the rocker as there is an added bushing .if you have access to manuals for both as I did you would see the subtle differences that make it work so much better. my bike rides like a caddy my buddy's bikes not so much its in the owner/maintenance or update obsolete parts.. I wish Harley had of done this it would have saved me some work .. that's my .02
