I have an 03 Heritage Springer, I just changed the stock slip on mufflers in favor of a set of baffle-less fish tails. The bike has a Power Commander 3 on it. I changed the map to one for a straight baffle less exhaust and a Stage 1 (I'm not positive the bike has Stage 1 but it does have the round air filter). Today when I rode the bikye for the first time since the mods it starts missing/coughing in the higher RPM range of 2nd and 3rd gear, it runs out fine in 1st, 4th and 5th. Now the big problem, I'm supposed to leave tomorrow morning on a 1500 mile bike trip to Key West. When I was trying to decide what map to use I found one for o1 Heritage Springer but the exhaust was nothing close to what I have and it had a note on it that the heritage springer uses a different ECM than the other softails. I probably should have used that one but with the difference in year and exhaust I didn't think it would be best. So my options now are to go home after work and try a different map and hope I can find one that works better or what I'm leaning toward, just pull the power commander off and worry about finding the right map after the trip. Can I do that? or would I have to go back to the stock mufflers too?
