I have a friend that was trying to sell me on one of these as well. He was offering it to me at a great price as well as free installation.... although I'd still bring the beer

They sell 1000s of them but they are not necessary! The only time you need the oil pump is if you have pressure problems. I am running a stock oil pump with the stock plate with GEAR Drive. WOODS TW68G GEAR DRIVE CAMS, WOODS WDL-1012 DIRECTIONAL LIFTERS, COMPRESSION RELEASES 11-4 COMPRESSION 3001 TC CYLINDER STUD KIT. The key on any TC is getting rid of the darn chain drive when you can afford to. I made mine brake Twice with in warranty .. Some bikes have the oil light come on at idle. That is not necessarily a bad thing. As long as you have 35bs at running rpm all is well. Yes a Gear drive is slightly loader, but you only need to replace is ONCE... Have a Good One BILL

I have the SE plate and pump on mine. Did the whole thing-cams, hydraulic tensioner upgrade, etc. What year bike are you running? I think up to '07 max runout from the factory was .005. The plate and pump are a worthwhile upgrade whether you do cams and tensioners or not, IMHO. But you may as well do cams while you're in there. Just make sure you get a kit that includes the roller type chain for the back side of the plate as well. The basic H-D kit does not come so equipped. Took me about 5 hours, taking my time and double checking everything, never had done it before.
