It is usually folks with no experience on a Springer that have the most negative things to say about them. For those of us in the know, there is no other bike we would ride.

An 06 FL/FX Springer will make a fine first Harley. Bounce is something from the very distant past; nothing to be concerned about with a late model HD Springer. Any competent Harley mechanic will be able to service it for you. I've actually had less issues with mine than with hydraulic forks.
I gotta tell you that you made that bike look awesome without ditching safety features like turn signals and mirrors. Nice job and not easy to do.
