And here he mixes complaining with threats when I opened a claim in Ebay..
And This is him lying about receiving them and then putting them for sale and of course he knew (what I did not know) that if you close a case you can not reopen it.
Honestly in all my years I have never seen anything like this .. maybe I was lucky..
Is there any possibility that the shipment did not arrive intact? It certainly could have arrived with one strut missing. His communications do not make him look like a scam artist. I for one, am not ready to comdemn him, at least not based on what has transpired. Don't
misunderstand me Bro, I am not bashing either one of you, just considering all possibilities.
You never know what you're going to get on e-Bay.
e-Bay has always been a "buyer's beware" site.
I don't think airing your grievances about an e-Bay purchase on HD Forums is the right place.
e-Bay has a process for grievances and apparently you failed to follow that process.
You have to admit, the e-Bay grievance process failed partly due your actions.
You've had over 2300 post on HD Forums and you've been a member since 2007 so I have no reason to doubt your integrity or that you truly feel you've been screwed over, however "moredoor55" may not be a Softail HD Forum member so they are not here to defend themselves.
I've been screwed on e-Bay before as well and paid $2400 for a pickup only to find out once I got it home that it was a poster child for bondo and rust. I figure I got screwed by at least $1000. However I made the purchase so it's my bad.
The best you can do on e-Bay is to review the seller's feedbacks and then roll the dice in hopes you don't crap out.
Sorry you feel like you got hosed but you did it yourself by closing the inquiry. I wouldn't give a rats azz if his account went 'negative', that's his problem! His feedback wasn't great before you post. Why you bought from him is your reasoning. I never buy from someone with less than stellar feedback. And when returning or better yet, before buying read ALL the fine print and follow the directions. When opening a complaint, you don't have to do anything. eBay will notify you when action on your part is necessary. I recently returned an item and did not close it until the money was transferred out of paypal to my bank. I didn't even have to do that, it was automatic. In 15 years selling and buying I have had exactly ! bad transaction and it was over 12 years ago.
I will do the same again. I rather regret my money than feeling like a heartless jerk. I was not complaining about money but rather warning the biggest group of possible buyers of this item that I know.
And after reporting the new post to eBay. they promised to investigate. This morning I wake up to full refund (minus my shipping back money) which I was going to get back anyways through my bank.
He claims United States Postal service found the other strut in the warehouse and sent it to him. Personally I don't believe it.
I hope this helps my brothers here in the future.
He also apologized and said he was pissed.
Moving on.. I acted in good faith and took a a chance to help someone who said he is in financial trouble.
His communication seems as if he did/tried to do the right thing BUT I find it unusual that his current listing (see below) seems to show the same PAIR of struts that he now describes as from a 2006 (not a 2005). Seems as if the second strut that he said was originally missing did show up.
If it came time for me to deal with this seller, I'd probably avoid him. Over the years, I've found ebay and Paypal to be outstanding to deal with but guess I'll need to be very careful in the future.
That's too bad, I've been buying on ebay for about 15 years. Only done about a hundred transactions in that time but never had an issue. It annoys me more than anything anymore, just a bunch of crap guys keep on there with 25 day listings asking way too much that take up all the space on the pages.
