I am sure I will catch **** for this but I don't see what all the fuss is about over the Breakout. I'm not knocking anyone who has bought one, I am not even knocking the bike itself, I just don't see it though. I see nothing "special" about it so if anyone can tell me something about it that I am not seeing I am very open to that. The very 1st time I seen a picture of one it instantly reminded me of the 75 Super glide I bought new back in the day. I know there is a HUGE difference between the 2, I'm just sayin.....Would I have 1 in my garage? Hell yea! But by time I was done with "making it mine" it would no where resemble the bike new off of the showroom floor.....I'm done, now everyone can climb on my azz for my comment.

Naw man, everyone has their own opinion and that makes the world better! If everyone all liked the same thing, think about how boring everything would be? I'm sure something in the bike you have just 'speaks' to you, that is why you have it. Is the Breakout perfect for me? No, there are things I want to change, but when I saw it this past year it truly 'spoke' to me more than any other bike, and I did something about it and got one.
Tony, have you seen a Breakout in person? I did not understand the excitement about it until I saw one in the flesh. As for not keeping it stock, who keeps any Harley stock? That is the point. But there are a few things the Breakout has that other Softails don't. 49mm fork, more rake, 240 rear wheel, etc. To add/change these things on any other Softail would be quite expensive.

It has nice lines, a theme, and flow, rather than being a mish-mash of dissonant parts. Not everyone looks for that in a bike, or even notices, but it means a lot to some of us.
And it doesn't have a lot of clutter to distract from the lines.

An easier way of looking at it:
Think of it like the outline of a nicely-figured woman. If the outline is nice enough, that pretty much does it for most guys. I'm kinda like that too. Don't care so much about the hair style, or jewely, or clothing chosen. If the outline and profile look good enough, she won't need a lot of added-on goo-gaws anyway. Like the Breakout. Ornamentation and distracton with goo-gaws is a valuable skill for gals (and bikes) which don't have good basic outlines though.
