Default Old Softies - 20+

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the forum, and a new Harley owner. I picked up an 87 Softail Custom, and after perusing the forum, I've come across very few older bikes? Anybody out there riding a pre-1994 Softail? Any pics? Any tips for a bike of that generation? Thanks in advance!

Here's my new money pit: Old Softies - 20+-xpvecn9.jpg

There is a whole section for them. I hang out in the Evo forum with my 95 Heritage.

Well, it sounds like that's where I need to be hanging out!

I also have a 1987 FXSTC. Got it new, has about 90,000 miles on it now. Your bike looks bone stock, quite a find. I've had new lifters installed, jugs off a few times for gasket leaks, primary gear replaced. A great bike though, enjoy.

Thanks shy1! Yeah, it's pretty much stock except for the forward controls (which I plan to remove) and bars. It's got about 21k miles on it. It had been in storage for close to a decade, so I need to go through it to get it back on the road. I rebuilt the carb, and it's running now, but I need to get new tires and a few other things for it.
