Default Trouble for the Train

Hey anyone had any problems with the engine doing funky things on deceleration?
Today me and the wife were gonna take a nice long cruise out in the countryside, and before I even got out of town (luckily)
as I was acceleration going through 2nd, 3rd gears I let up, and this weird grinding noise started coming from somewhere in the front
part of the motor.
It would go away when I accelerated, but as soon as I let up on the gas, there it was again.
It was so bad that both me and the wife felt the vibrations through our foot pegs.
Also seems to be quite a bit of noise coming from the front of the engine when I got it home.
Anyone hear or have this problem before? It will be a week before I can get this sick puppy to the Doctor, won't be riding it of course.
I was really pissed about this because then I didn't have any excuses to get out of honey do's because we came back so early.
I am kinda wondering if the thing hasn't spun a bearing or something.
Oh I also would pull in the clutch while this grinding noise was going on and it would still do it, thinking that maybe I was loosing a gear
or something.
I am just glad this thing is still under warranty, it sounds like there is something major wrong here.

Wonder if the primary tensioner went bye-bye on you.
Be interesting to find out, so please let us know what they find.

Sure will, it sure does sound nasty though. I can't believe she let me down like this...only 6500 miles on her!
I guess better now than out of warranty.

My old Ironhead used to do the same thing when it would occasionally lose the nylon shoe out of the primary tensioner.

Exactly, but its been my experience that if some part or manufacturing defect is going to"go wrong" it generally shows upfairly quickly.

BTW If you can, see about some pics of the problem, I think it helpsto be able to "see" what a problem looks like when its found.
