Who has the most miles on their 07 and up , mines an 07 Deluxe, and what kind of issues have you had with yours. I'm not fond of the auto adjust primary chain, and the pop--clunk on start-up , other than that , I love this bike. Just about to hit the 10k mark on mine.
My 09 has 49376 on it as of today. I haven't had any problems with it. Just change the oil and tires and grease a few things. Still clunks on start up and when you shift. I should have 50k by the end of the year and she will be broke-in.
I have an 07 Heritage and have 36k on her. I just replaced the ignition switch and my headlight as gone our 3 times, the last one this past weekend. Original horn went out in around 12k. On my second battery. Three sets of tires. Had an oil leak which was difficult to find but finally fixed. Everything else fine.
We can only ride 5-6 mos a yr and our 07 has 46k now.
Only issue we've had that put her in the shop was the pin hole in the gas line at 33k two yrs ago.
Of course I was 500 miles from home when she starting missing out around 100 miles after filling up. After all new hose's and filter inside, she's been perfect for the last 13k. (Damn that Ethanol)
Other than that, only usual, brakes, tires, oil, (1) battery, and good maintenance.
As far as the Clunk on start, Yrs ago I read Melton's fix.. If U have a tuner that will set timing (I have the older SERT), he suggested setting Ur advance at (0) at (0) Rpms and (0) throttle, Had my tuner do that at 15K when I did the cams and results after that adjustment was (NO MORE Clunk's/Bang's on start up at all).
She does turn over slower on first Rev then back to normal, still starts up fine. At least that helps the stator from wearing as much and its a easier on the Comp. Work's for our bike.
