Love it so far. Friday was exceptionally warm here in NY, and I went to the dealership just to "run some numbers"- yeah, they had my number, esp with it being warm out. anyway, no more sporty, and my new bike is in my siggy.
Two questions....I have the access catalogue, and it appears no solo backrest if I were to take the passenger seat off? Also no studded rear fender bib if I did so? I can get a Mustang one through J+P, but my first add on would be the driver's backrest, and I can't seem to find one online, unless I go with a Mustang solo seat....
any ideas?
(And btw....I got my 2000 miles in on the sporty before trading )
next question....also sat on a heritage with V+H big shot longs which sounded fantastic, but that means I need to do the whole exhaust and mapping, right?
I like the sound of pythons too, but slash cut or Mamba's? Youtube videos, just don't really tell the whole story. I want that throaty putt putt, not obnoxious at all

congrats on the new bike.. just got my FLSTC about 5 weeks ago. at the 1000 mile service I added V&H twin slash 3" slip-ons S Eagle 1584 stage 1 efi kit and street tuned. it sounds a lot more throaty with these pipes.
is that the root beer color (darker?) I just watched a video about that color. Looks really nice. And, just watched another one, about those pipes too. Do you have to do a stage 1 with those slip ons? how does one "pick" pipes? the stock sound is just very plain and quiet!
Has anyone switched out their seat to a mustang with backrest? is the 15" sport ok, or is the 17 1/2" better....I do not have a large derrier
Congratulations on the new Heritage. Love the color, but I'm biased. A cheaper option for your backrest issue may be the Grasshopper; costs about a hundred bucks. Some like them, some don't. I've had no issues with mine so far. From what I understand, Pythons are a less expensive brand made by Vance and Hines. Rush also makes a good product. You shouldn't have to do a re-map for just changing the exhaust. I would recommend checking out the wiring "pigtail" that you can purchase that will allow your rear turn signals to function as run and brake lights also. There's another "pigtail" that will enable you to run your auxiliary lights with your high beams. I would suggest both for added visibility. Enjoy the ride, and welcome to the family.
