never heard the screamin eagles. Everyone says they're a waste of money though. I do have Screamin EagleII's and they rock, cheap on ebay too. I'd do a little research, but the S.E.'s available now seem to be government mandated crap
The older SE's muffs are completely diff than the newer one.. think the change was in 07.. The older ones are about as loud as my Rush with 2'' baffles.
The newer ones are olny 2or3Db's louder than Stock muffs, or just barely enough to notice.
I only knew of two other who bought them... and both removed then a short time later and went with some other mufflers.
I ran 'em a couple years on my Deuce, have a good sound but not loud enough for me. As said, just a tad louder than stock, the old SEII's were loud but not made by HD anymore. If you don't want loud they're your ticket.
I am thinking about putting Screaming Eagle Slip on mufflers on my 2008 Heritage.
Anyone have them, and what is your opinion?
I do not want something loud, but just want to get a little more sound.
Thanks,
Balloo
I have them on my 2014 ultra and I think from what you have described they would be perfect. Fairly quiet when you want them to be with a nice deep sound but will still bark a little if you get on the throttle.
I had SEIIs on an 04 Wide Glide and they rocked. I put a set of SE slip ons on an 07 Road King and they were a disappointing because I had expectations from the SEII pipes. I have set of SE pipes on a 10 Heritage, but the baffles were removed and cut in half and reinstalled. The performance is fine, the sound has a good rumble at idle and cruise, but to me a sound tinny like some old burned out glass packs when you screw it on--loud, but to me not a good loud like the SEIIs. I like Screamin' Eagle parts and generally stick with them, but with slip ons you can do better. You can get SE II pipes for softails and I would love to know if they would fit on an 07 or later. I would buy a set in a minute if they would, but don't know.
I've got a 2010 Heritage and I put on SE slip-ons. They are in the 80 decibel range. They are not loud but I like the way they sound. They have a deeper sound than the oem at idle and do rumble when you accelerate. They are not as loud as Rush.
I've got them on my Luxe and really like them. My days of real loud exhaust is behind me and these have a nice deep tone with just enough to hear its a Harley.
