Default 21" white wall???

Been trolling for a while and finally getting the chance to get a V-twin. Really want to build a lux, I've spent days researching white walls for 21's but it seems like tab at db was the way to go but that source is now gone, and vee's are absolutely crap... So you either stretch an avon or metz or go with blackwalls I'm about to jump ship from the lux and just buy and build a SG, Anyone have any luck finding tires or know any new info.

Did you run a tube with it just in case? That seems like the way to go. 3" or 3.5" rim?

Can someone please explain this to me? I hope to upgrade to a 21 myself in 6 months or so. I see lots of bikes with 21 white walls and have found them in search so I could add up the cost. I don't know what you mean by stretching. Are the tires made for a narrow rim?

They only make a whitewall in a 21 for the narrow 22x2.15 rim I believe and it's only Avon and metz if I'm not mistaken. So for a 3-3.5 rim you've got to take one of these tires and stretch it. Which that looks like what I'm gonna do myself since it seems like the best option. I will prolly run a tube just in case though. Seems like everyone has done it and no one has had trouble. There should seriously be a sticky on this for whitewall on 18's and 21's. I will stick with a 16 rear vs 18 because of the same issues but that's a whole other thread.

I am holding out hope that Metz comes out with a 21" WWW that fits a 3 or 3.5 rim. Metz is expanding the number of ME888 sizes and I am holding out for one more year. I am not going the Vee Rubber or super stretched tire route. I sent Metz a letter about this issue and the reply was somewhat positive in a corporate double speak kind of way. SJ Ron

I bought a 120/70/21 Vee whitewall tire, and had it installed on a 21 x 3.5 DNA rim. Works really well, no problems in 4 months. No tube, but have Dyna beads.
