Default possible dumb question about heritage....

Is it or is it not part of the touring bikes? What makes bikes part of the touring lineup vs not? If it isn't, the heritage has more touring features than a road king..... just want a curiosity question answered, that's all, and thanks!

No the heritage softail isn't part of the touring line. The heritage is a softail which means it has different suspension, frame, gas tank size, throttle by wire (touring) vs cable throttle (softail), cruise control, brembo brakes, hard bags, and different riding position.

It also has a different engine (counterbalanced softail vs rubber mounted tourer) and transmission

I call our Heritage, the Touring bike of the softails.. Comes with bags and shield and with the FL front end (as a RK) it has a great ride .
For me, The seat is fantastic, the bars are have the perfect height for me and the total overall feel and the Ergos of a Heritage is at the top of all Harley's in stock form... IMO.

Still its a Softail fame.. less rear shock travel and smaller tire that on the latest touring frame.

Wife and I ride 2up about 5-7k a yr and I do 1 or 2 vacation trips a yr of 1500 -2000 k's...
I've never had a single complaint with the Heritage about the comfort or the ride, or lack of storage.
They are a great bike just putting around town/country or out on the HI-Way at 75 mph 7-8-9 hrs day after day.

U just have to find one that U like, fits U, and fill Ur needs.
Of course U also could just spend the $$$ and just about make any bike do that.

Just take U time. Do more Research and look around for the best deal U can get.

The Heritage is a nice bike although not a touring bike or in the touring bike lineup and technically you can tour with it if it is the bike you want to do it on. I would choose not to as to me at interstate speed there is some buzz vibration in the handlebars and affects my hands bad...I have arthritis and poor circulation due to diabetes so it takes very little...I still would like to have one because i think it's one of HD's most beautiful and comfortable sitting bike.
I love the smoothness of the rubber mounted motor. for long distance riding...

Just out of curiosity, what additional features does the Heritage have over a Road King?
