Default Screamin Eagle II Slip On Mufflers

I just ordered a set of the SE II slip on mufflers for my 09 Heritage. Part number 80220-2. Cost me $80 including shipping.

I was wondering if these have removable baffles as I do not have them in front of me. Will they work without end caps or are the end caps a must?

I also read that these were produced before the EPA started restricting the SE mufflers. I have some other parts to buy before I install them and was mainly asking for any other info I might need, tuner etc.

Please chime in with any experience good or bad. I hope I did not pay to much for them and all works out.

Thanks for the input............Fire away guys

If the are HD the baffels are probably not easily removable. Shouldn't need any end caps. Not a great choice in my book but the price sound's good. Hope you like them.

I had a set o SE II slipons on a Wide Glide several years ago and loved them--the rest of the neighbors not so much. They were discontinued as they are not EPA approved pipes and not for street use. I don't recall any end caps. I believe they were baloney cut style pipes. My bike was carbed and jetted out for pipes and an open breather. Yes, you can take the baffles out, but you aren't gonna need to. They are set off car alarms, rattle the windows loud. They are probably the most decent sounding pipes HD made. I would love to know how they work out, as I have thought about finding some and trying them on my '10 Heritage. Good luck with them.

Why NOT a good choice Gman? I want to know the positives and the negatives.

Since these are going on an 09 Heritage I will let you know how they do. I have a friend that rides an 04 Dyna with SE slip ons that sound good I am not sure they are SE II's though.

They have script impression that says Screamin' Eagle II on the top aft pipe. It's readily apparent if they are SE IIs. They also have fine print on the bottom that say they are not street legal.

i installed a set of se2 on my 05 standard and my wife could not hear me when i went past the house with the baffels in , now maybe w/o the baffels they might be louder but would have required me to remap the bike so i put my python 3s back on and you cann hear me about a block away which is loud but not too obnoxious, now on the other hand i had s-e 2 on my 05 1200 xlc and they sounded great with a set of big city thunder baffels installed thats my two cents for whats it worth

I had a set on my '05 Sporty, whey sounded awesome & loud! Right after I got my Deuce I got a set of regular SE's & was I disappointed, big mistake. They were just a little louder than stock. My Rush's sound a lot like my old SEII's.

I have another question. The pipes are Screanin Eagle II Pro Plus which are designed for end caps. The pipes are stamped for racing use only so they should have the sound I am after. I recieved the pipes last night and after looking at the ends it looks like they can function without end caps. Is this wrong thinking? Do I need the caps immediately or can I run them until I get caps? Also will any caps work if they are the correct diameter or are the caps specific for the model pipes I have? Sorry for all the questions but I am not familiar with these pipes.
