Default FLS front end on Night Train

I have an o7 Train i want to put a FLS front end on it. I know about the different axle size's not worry about that as i will be getting a new front rim. Looking for any help or info on how hard or easy this is. Should i be looking for the same year front end as my year or will any year fit? Can i piece one together? What parts do i need? Thanks in advance!!

in a perfect world I would stick with same yr(s). But that being said...'99 and older complete front ends and parting can be more economical. They do pose some fitment and spacing issues though when working with the wheels, brake calipers/rotors...but it can be done.

I am currently doing an FL front end with freight train nacelle kit on an 08 NT. I saw this today in the classified section
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/stock...uxe-flstn.html
this would be a cheaper way to go, i have almost 1500 in mine with just parts. I got a quote for a used one for 1500 also. I am running fatboy Hawg Halter trees with 4* rake $500, and the nacelle kit $500, plus wheel and tire $600-700.
Wife just texted me earlier that my nacelle kit came in today. will be mocking up the front end tonight. here is a link to what i got going
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...ain-build.html
I know in my case the fork stops for an 08 are integral to the trees for my year, the axle is the 1" or 25mm whatever units you care to use and the forks are 41mm for both models, Double check my measurements before ordering any parts but that was the case for me. If your using your stock fork tubes/lowers and wheel, the trees and sheetmetal kit is all you should need to buy. I should have a better insight for ya later.

Yikes I think I'm into mine about $1000.00 with the 23" rim & tire.

Ya, I'd nab that complete frontend with the quickness. Mines cobbled from 4 different front ends. That's a pretty good price.
