Well, I ride when I can but seriously they don't get as bas as people think they will. I use a little Windex on them now and then and no matter how many miles I put down I think I can keep them clean. When I do a full detail on the bike I use that Mr. Clean pad or what ever it's call," Magic eraser", that's what it is.

Hey, they were $12, total. With that kind of price tag, this particular thread is the least of my worries.
Had red grips on a previous bike, a sporty. Had to clean them periodically. I do all my own work, and on my bike that is a regular thing (greasy hand inducing maintenance). I'll just clean em - maybe with some Bleche White, what I use on the whitewalls?
