I already have the Fat Boy® Seat with Rider Backrest and would like to get a smaller seat for when I'm running around alone. I really like the Corbin Young Guns but was also looking at the Sundowner. If you have the Sundowner how do you rate it's comfort? I had a Corbin YG's on my last bike and could ride for hours with no problem.
Softail Bob ,
I'm a bit confused , it appears you have the "Sundowner " seat on your FB . I have the Sundownerfor my Deuce when the Wife comes along , it's the largest , touring type seat Harley makes . I believe it is larger than any stock seat except for maybe the Ultra .
Before you buy one, you better go look at one personally.
Not for me.
I've got one in my shed that fits my 06' FX with 10 minutes on it. If it fits your bike, it's yours for $150.00
.
I got one on my 06 Heritage FLSTI - I like it, but I did not ride much with the stock seat so cant really compare it. My longest ride was about 250miles no problem what so ever.
Everybody's butt is different is all I can say. As far as I'm concerned, the pillon on the sundowner is ugly as hell... but to each his own. I bought one to use as a two up on my nightrain and ended up having it rebuilt using Geltek waffle gel so that I could stand a 400 mile ride. Some days I can go for 13 hours, others barely 6. No rhyme nor reason as to why as far as I can tell.
If I were you I would get a solo seat for your fat boy for looks...
Long rides on Harleys are all over the place in terms of stories told... I heard one guy say he can do a 1000 miles in one day on his Ultra. I don't care WHAT seat >I< had, I ain't doin' no 1000 on one of these vibratin' rattle traps... if I wanted to go long distance, I would get a bmw or a goldwing. The seat would be of little consequence, then. It's all ugly...
Softtail Bob... if you were happy with a Corbin you might want to look at it again. On long rides I prefer the leather seating surface of the Corbin. Some say they are to firm, but firm and works on long rides.
I really messed this thread up bad!!! I was looking at the Rallyrunner not the Sundowner seat. I have the following HD seat:
Fat Boy® Seat with Rider Backrest These seats add miles to the ride with added back support and foam density. Fat Boy® logo adds the finishing touch! Seat width 15", passenger pillion width 11.5".
I ment to ask about the Rallyrunner not the Sundowner... I'm sorry guys I'll start a new thread..
