Default Breakout Air Cleaner

Any recommendations or pictures of air cleaners would be appreciated. Just wondering which is best for performance and style (realize style is subjective but please share!)
Thanks in advance.

There are only a few companies making true performance intakes anymore.

DK Custom
NRHS
Hammer

I don't know of any others.

Pushing blow-by back into the air cleaner is counter productive to performance. What comes out of the breathers is primarily exhaust and oil.

It is also hot. Engines perform better with cool dry air and gas...not hot oily air and gas.

Additionally the exhaust gas has a lower oxygen content, displacing oxygen on each combustion stroke. Another performance robber.

Oil will build up carbon deposits on the pistons, leading to pinging/tuning problems down the road.

It's just a bad idea...the only upside is you make the EPA happy.

You can see the dozens of different looks of the DK Custom Outlaw A/C's HERE Also at that link are dyno charts showing the bump in torque and HP, by just NOT venting the hot oily air into the intake.

Pretty much all of the intakes will perform the same as far as airflow. The exception that usually pops up is the Kuryakyn intake with the little flaps on it.

As for the oil back into the intake, DK is right.

Decide if you are concerned with the oil going into the intake, then choose whichever one looks the best to you, or is within your budget.

I have the Roland Sands intake on my bike. I am pretty sure its manufactured by PM using RS's logo and design. I've only got 500 miles on it as I just put the bike together. So nothing to add other than it works and stays clean. It looks great and the chrome work is really deep. Nothing more than a back plate and a cover with the K&N style air filter getting sandwiched between them. The crank breather hoses hide well so it looks clean and simple.
