Why does my front brake suck?

I hear ya oct. I just changed the brake fluid on my 99 that I recently purchased used. In the front master cyl the fluid was actually starting to gel & harden to in the bottom of the reservior. Luckily I was able to clean out that gunk & put in new fluid.

Well I rebuilt my caliper and flushed the system and replaced the pads with EBC double h sintered pads. The fluid was clear and the caliper clean when I took it apart so somebody had at least replaced the fluid at some point. Took it for a ride and it is a big improvement, mainly from the pads I'm guessing. Will break them in according to the EBC web site and I think I'll be happy.
