Yeah, seat holes shouldn't be a problem. Maybe how the seat fits on the fender, though?

I've got a 2013 Fatboy Lo, and my brother just got a 14 Breakout - which, yeah, I totally love that bike's rear fender. As a result, I'm going to be buying a 2011 fender, chopping it similar to the breakout's fender, plasti-dipping, relocating the license plate to the left axle bolt (Road6 customs horizontal mount) and removing the rear turn bullets, replacing those and the rear brake light with an LED bar that has integrated amber turns from Ghostrider Customs... will let you know how it works out, if you're interested in potentially chopping your existing fender. (I'm buying the 2011 one so I can retain my stock fender just in case)...

Here are pics of a fatboy fender chopped on a Night Train. The fender struts are Night Train struts and are the same as the Fatboys.
He has it lowered 2" too.
While I really like the way it looks, I cant find a place to chop it here in Korea...
The other reason I didn't do this is you still have to repaint it and you have to relocate your license plate and taillight to the side or some other fender mounted option.

I was looking hard at this : http://www.customchrome.com/dcm/cc/v...otRodSTPg.html
and while it looks very similar to the RSD Tracker, its actually shorter so it would SERIOUSLY look like a dirt bike if you didnt slam the bike which I am opposed to. The fender is cheap and you use the stock struts that are under the big long strut covers on your fatboy but then you have to add the factor and cost of relocating the lights and signals, the paint, and then lowering the bike to make it look right, this option was OUT! Too expensive in the long run.
This brought me back to the RWD fender I posted earlier.
I hope it works out. Although the initial purchase was more expensive, There is no guess work with lights, signals, struts etc. Just seat holes and paint.

I emailed him about it:
No, they are the Night Train struts. Which are exactly the same as FatBoy struts. The fenders are interchangeable.

You got it, right on top of the license plate holes is where I cut it. Used a soup can for the rounded corners. We used a grinder/cutting wheel to cut it, so we left at least an 1/8" from our line we had drawn. Then we grinded/sanded the fender down from there. If you're trying to save your factory paint. Make sure you tape the crap out of it and cut slow.
Those pictures are with it lowered 1.5". When I sit on it, it tucks up better, but still a decent gap.
You'll have to do some rewiring too, since you'll lose the brake light. You'll need the harness that turns your turns into brake/run/turns and you'll have to split the ground to go to both sides. Pretty straight forward, I'm by no means a wiring expert and figutred it out easy enough.

I like it! May take a couple years to get there, though. I wonder how it would look with less chopped off, maybe to just below the tail light...

You are in luck my friend!
I am an expert "Paint" user.
Here is a perfect rendering of a less chopped fender just below the taillight lol

But seriously though, I think it would look kinda like a Deuce with a horrible taillight.

Brilliant move! Inexpensive as well - that ought to wake up some of those
overpriced fender manufacturers.

Nicely done!

I just ordered the RSD tracker rear fender and black struts for my 2012 FB Lo. That seemed to be the best look at a decent price. I really wanted the wild heart heartland set up, but wasn't willing to spend that much.

My only complaint is how the front of the RDS solo seat lines up with the back of the tank (that gap). I don't want to pay the extra for a bitchin seat, and it dosnt look like I'll have any other options, so I may just get the RSD one and do the best I can with it...
