Removing gas cap to install flush mount on Breakout
I've got one of the really sticky gas caps on my new Breakout- It takes a lot of force to remove it, and I can never accomplish it without taking my gloves off- I'm thinking of switching to the flush mount gas cap.
Just a few quick questions- What's the best way to remove the stock gas cap without damaging the tank (Is it something that takes a lot of force to pry off)? And is there any type of fuel sensors in there that I need to worry about?
You don't have to remove anything other than the stock cap itself. Then you basically just stick on the trim ring and put on the new cap. Here's a link to the instructions on the HD site:

Just did this two days ago. I disliked my gas cap...it never stuck, but was a pain in the rear to remove sometimes. not enough grip. The flush mount looks slick and is a hell of a lot easier to remove when filling up. Took all of five minutes.

This is basically my issue- It's not stuck shut, but it takes a good amount of grip to remove it, and is a pain in the ***.
I was thinking there was something else that needed to be removed before the install (besides the cap)- but I guess there isn't anything else to do. Now the only question is black or chrome.
I got the gloss black and it goes well with the lines and color of the bike. It almost disappears. I got a blackline dash coming in tomorrow so that will round out the look on the tank.
jix had the same exact issue with his gas cap. i think there is a batch of faulty caps.... not sure why. you are the third person ive seen complain about that.
