What size rear axle does a Springer Classic have? 3/4" or 1"??? I think it's 3/4"
I have a friend who wants to change wheels but the wheels he wants has a 1" axle. Can you change the axles and make it work or should he just look for a wheel with a 3/4" axle?
i dont know the diameter, but i've helped people change wheels with different axle sizes, and all they had to do was change the bearings in the hub (besides spacers and such) to make it work.
Sgt Jim is correct to a point. Not all wheels can take all bearing sizes. Most are very easy done, but some need shimming, offsetting, custom wheel spacers, and custom hub spacers. Ask me how I know?........This falls under the measure twice........ category. Get measurements for bearings off your stock wheels, then make sure new wheels can use those same measurements. There is a ton of info.on this site for this.
What year is the bike? 1" bearings can be installed in a wheel with 3/4" bearings but spacers might need to be adjusted. We need more info to give an answer.
