I have no beef with the guys or girls who do. I am sure I will eventually make some changes, but I do like and respect the factory look. I am just happy as hell to finally be on a Harley cruiser and that's enough for me right now. I feel that we are all kindred spirits and despite some of yall's attempts to **** me off, I love you anyway. So...suck on that.
IMO, if you spend alot of time on this forum it would seem modding the hell out of your bike is mainstream, because many people here do. But if you look at bikes on the road you'll see many if not most have simple mods; pipes, derby covers, seats, saddle bags. Not stock but not heavily modded either.

Back when it wasn't "cool" to own and ride a Harley, people would feel the need to make comments all the time about Harleys and their riders.

One I thought was going to be just another started, "You know what you rarely see with Harleys?" I just thought it was going to be, "one running".
He said, "A stock one". After the shock wore off, I told him yes he was right.

100 years from now, no one will know or care about what you did or didn't do to your bike.

I have made a few changes to my Road King. Smaller windshield, Reinhardt pipes, Mustang seat, Ultra Tourpak.

I had good reason for these mods. The stock headers kinda sucked for me on the 05 Road King. Broke three times under warranty. I like a little wind and hate looking through bugs for thousands of miles. The seat sucked bad after a few hundred miles. Tourpak for long trips (removable).

My 13 Ultra Limited I added a lowered tinted windshield and windshield bag.

The bikes are fine stock unless you have some preference in certain mods. You can change every part on the bike and it's not going to make much difference to anyone else.

Do what you want.

The question "Why" can be answered with "Why Not"

Lewis fix your bike up the way you want it to fit you, not HD or other people. People customize their bikes for performance and looks and mostly all bikers don't give a crap what other people think of their ride. I changed out parts to fit my comfort and performance that's all I care about. 20k is a bit of an exaggeration to customize your stock ride.

I ghettoed the **** out of my Fatboy S with Vance and Hines Big Shots, VH air cleaner, fuel pak and Mustang seat.

I should have known better. My bike looks so ghetto now and even tho the free flowing exhast and intake woke it up, it must be all in my head because everyone knows that stock choked up catted EPA exhausts perform better than high performance parts.

And this ghetto *** seat? WTF was I thinking? I mean the stock seat made my tailbone feel like it was breaking after only a half hour in the saddle, but again that must have all been in my head bc it's a universal fact that the stock seat is better.

Anyone know the quickest way to un-ghetto this? And to think I was going to put black spokes and cams on it next year.

We are going back in time. Whats up with the start date of this thread? Lewis may be trying to see how we respond three years later.
