Why do some people put other things on their bike (paint, pipes, handlebars, etc.?) Doesn't that make the bike look ghetto? Won't you catch a beating if you pull up to the wrong 1% bar? Think about it...if H-D wanted that stuff on the bike, they would have made it that way. I suggest we all save our money and leave them the way they look and perform the best. STOCK!

After reading the original post I am stunned that there are 6 pages of replies. If we all intended to keep our bikes stock, then why would we even need a forum? We'd be spending our time more wisely discussing the weather.
ok I guess I'm the only one who likes the looks of the stock bikes. I guess I should have just skipped a whole bunch of steps and bought a bike from one of these custom shops. Then I would be way ahead of the game. Now I have to spend another 20 k changing all the parts. That makes sense.

Stop talking your making yourself seem like a complete A_ _.
I was actually planning on putting different handlebars, grips and probably highway pegs on my bike (for comfort).

So.... yeah.... I get what .... What are you saying???? I gotta tell ya.... this = TROLL.
I'm thinking a smart car is in your future. I worry about bad drivers/riders out there, what I have to do to avoid crashing into you, and all of your comments tell me that you have no F'ing idea what you're doing when it comes to motorcycles. Get a whole lot smarter really fast or go get that smart car. I'm sure there's a forum for them too.
I'm not trolling. Yes I did want to put grips and handlebars from another manufacturer (for comfort). I was advised against it by my dealer. H-D recommends H-D parts only. I don't claim to know very much about working on motorcycles (yet), but I have been riding motorcycles for 20 years, but this is my first Harley. I have always wanted one, but never felt I could afford one. Now that I finally got one, I just want to do the right thing. H-D riders are like a community with standards I suppose, so I don't want to do something trying to be slick, and end up insulting the community. That was my point. Everyone got all butt hurt like I was insulting their bikes. Why would I do that? I'm on this forum to learn. A few people have given some useful answers. I appreciate that.
