yeah because apparently my HD dealer shop doesn't want to put on any handlebars or grips made by another company even if I bring them in and pay them a lot of money to do it, cuz I don't have any tools or skills. that tells me HD basically wants you to leave their product alone especially when it's under warranty.

First, I still believe you to be a troll. However, it is true that HD dealers will tell you that putting aftermarket products on your bike will void the warranty. This is true if and only if the products you put on the bike are the CAUSE of a malfunction. e.g. If you put a wrongly mapped Power Commander V on you bike and blow out your head gaskets. Your warranty is voided because it was the Power Commander's fault, not HD's.

If an HD dealer won't install parts for you, go to an independent mechanic and have it done. And if you're interested in learning, and not really a troll, then buy the shop manual. It has directions to tear the entire bike down and put it back together. Good luck.

Find a new dealer. Many dealers sell other manufacturers parts and will install those. Most shops, car repair shops included, won't install parts you just bring in. And your theory has more holes in it than a wiffle ball. HD sells a **** load of parts to swap onto your bike.

Why do I keep feeding the troll? Is there a way to lock myself out of this thread?

Ok, I am new, about as new can be but I have to say that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Find another dealer or a private shop. Or put on the big boy pants and, as previously suggested, get a manual for your bike, a tool box, and wrench your own stuff.

Unless your kids get their toys at christmas as a pile of parts, you can wrench on your own bike. Its not THAT hard (short of engine work)...if you can read, fairly educated, and follow instructions, you can do it.

I think everyone has their own idea of what level of modification looks ghetto in both bikes and cars. There could be a bike on the cover of EASYRIDER, that you might say to yourself, you would never own such a bike because it doesn't even look like a H=D, and looks too GHETTO! just sayin.......
You're an idiot for thinking stock performs best.
