One thing you might want to consider, with the filters exposed to the air like they are, there's a good chance that they will get dirty faster and require more cleaning, not to mention if you get into a rainstorm, last time I saw, rain wasn't too swift on an open filter, but it's your call.
I have to clean the open filter I have now twice a year, it washes out pretty black but is beautiful red when done, k an n clean an charge kit, rain aint good tho, bike runs rough when caught in it
I use to hate the look of them too, but I look around and everyone seams to be running either a round pod like a/c or SE heavy breather (no offense to those as they look great). While I still think this S&S a/c looks bad on a lot of bikes, sometimes, just sometimes I think it does work on the right bike. It also came in wrinkle black too, so I thought I'd be brave and give it a try and hoped I could rock it on my ride. I blacked out all the brackets etc, and I feel as though I've pulled it off, most might disagree, but I'm liking and it's grown on me
I agree your bike pulls it off successfully. I think it is the combianiton of blacked out appearance and the fact that the twin exhaust and twin intake echo each other.

My only quam right now ( with exception to the cost) is whether or not it really blocks out the motor. I will wait till Laconia in mid june, find a bike that has it, your blacked out bike is evil, pure an simple, different, that is a path to be recognized.
