Default 5 quart oil change

Did the 5 quart oil chenge today when I switched to Mobil 1 V-Twin. Not as hard as I though. Used my new Sears motorcycle lift, what a buy for $89. Forgot to keep a 2 liter bottle to catch the oil from the oil filter, used some aluminium foil and made a mess. Taking off the return line was the most challenging. The chrome cap was easy to pull back, but did not know why the line would not come out. There is a plastic piece on the return line that has 2 little tabs that need to be pushed into to allow the line to come out. Easy after I figured that out. Add new oil into tank and put on a new filter. Put a plastic fuel line on the return line, and started the engine. Pulled almost a full quart of DARK oil before I shut the engine off. I think I could have pulled just a bit more old oil, but started to "spit" some air and oil. I guess the air from the oil filter as it filled with oil, and since the oil goes to the filter first, I think I had pulled almost all the old stuff. Started to look like fresh oil. Topped off, and in the 5 quart oil change I only used 4???? Maybe there was some more air, I'll check the level next time I ride.

Default RE: 5 quart oil change

I think they refer to the 5 quart for the baggers 4+1 extra

If I remember correctly I think they say you will get about 24 ounces of dirty oil out of the engine.
