Trying to help a buddy out with his 2010 Lo. About a month ago he stopped by because his instrument cluster wasn't working. No Speedo, no gauge sweep when turning on, just a faint light flashing of the security key. Flash was pretty quick if I recall.
Bike starts fine, runs fine, just no gauge. Pulled his battery and hooked up my battery, still nothing. Put his back in, and now it's working again. No codes, nothing.
Last night he sent me a message saying it was doing it again.
Is there something obvious I'm missing? Or any suggestions?
Tried a Speedometer from a buddy who switched out his gauge for the new combo Speedo/Tach. Same year etc.. Plugged it in, no power.
Stock Gauge still flickers the key a little faster than 1 per second. Miles flicker with the same "beat". This is with the key OFF. With the key on, we get a flicker of the Speedo backlight every once in a while. Not touching any wires or anything.
Has anyone experienced an issue like this before? Anyone had a speedometer fail?
