Default Performance upgrade suggestions please!

Ok so here we go. 2011 heritage, stock 96" with stage 1 (ac and fishtails). I am absolutely disappointed in the power this bike makes. I know fishtails aren't known for power but hey, I like em. Anyway, it just seems like I have very sluggish acceleration at speed (6th gear, passing cars) It just seems very doggy. My night train with a stock carbed 88" will absolutely walk all over my heritage. I ride 2 up the majority of the time, I take long trips with this bike frequently.

I have been quoted a price on a 107" upgrade with head work, cams, and stuff that seemed reasonable.

What would you guys suggest for my riding style. I absolutely require reliability over hot rod speed. But it just seems that it currently doesn't have enough to make me happy. wait, im never happy hahahha

What are you using for fuel management? You may be able to make the motor run better with a new map.

Do you still have the stock air cleaner and tuner? If so, I would look into changing them.

You can do cams, ported heads, forged high comp pistons and a tune for 100hp - 100TQ

Dont bother with the 107. It will produce a **** ton of heat.

1 fact missing is how much do you want spend? Cam, headwork, SE pro tuner and dyno. I have an 06 that was a stock 88 and is now a big bore with all the compliments of a build. I took the SE heads off this winter to have them flowed, ported and polished and some valve, springs and guides tweaked. I am very anxious to get them on next week then put it on the dyno to see the results. It has all the power I needed and then some for how I ride.

You don't say if you're stock now or already done a Stage 1.

If you're still stock, or have a poorly matched Stage 1, you can pick up some pretty good power with a well done Stage 1.

Below is a chart of my Softail with fishtails. It was pretty doggy, but is making more than enough power now (for me), and well matched Stage 1 was significantly less than a 107 in cost.

Add a bolt on cam, shot money and best bang for the buck.

I like the SE-204 for great low rpm power, but for highway set up there are other options as well.

Funny....I didn't even know I had a 6th gear ( was completely useless ) until I did stage 1 and a Power Vision. Now, I can actually use 6th gear without going 80mph!
