Default Lowering the front shocks help

Recently picked up an 03 night train and I'm wanting to lower the front 2 inches because I want to level it out and I really like the look. From my research I've read that some people scrape the ground and others don't. Also it seems the progressive shocks are what most people go with.

My question is:

1) With the way my bike sits in the back, will I scrape if I drop the front 2 inches?

You're already pretty shy on cornering clearance.
How slow to you want to go?

You really think I'm already to low? I Don't mind going slower around corners if I can drop it 2 more inches in the front. I just dont want to mess up the bike
