Default Carlini apes question

For you guys that have Carlini apes: how do those set screws work for you? I'm assuming they hold the bars in good and tight, but how are they to move around?

I like to move my bars around, different heights and stuff. Different looks. Are the Carlinis easy to adjust when you want to make a change, or is it a pain?

Love the way they look, and I know they're well made.

I had some apes slip on me once at 80 mph on the interstate. That's one reason why I'm considering the Carlinis, aside from their looks and comfort. Don't know of another handlebar maker that uses set screws.

3yrs no issues. You can get to it easily with a allen wrench.

I've got set screws on my bars and have not had any issues with them at all.
I have these bars. http://www.hillcountrycustomcycles.c...rome-P288.aspx

2200 miles with mine, no issues at all. I do have a question though for those who have gone ape! I take that back now that I think of it, it may be an internal wiring and throttle that may be my question.

I went with the Exile internal throttle and I don't think I can use my throttle lock/poor mans cruise on it. I have talked to a few guys that have followed me so what did you guys do? Red? Any input? Anyone?

My Carlini's feel very solid with the set screws. But is a pain to get to the allen bolts on my springer raisers. I can only get about a 1/8 to 1/4 turn on them at a time because of clearance issues. It becomes a tedious job but if you have a little more patience then I do you should be fine.

The set screws are in the top plate of the risers. I don't know if that is unique to the Carlini springer risers.
