Default Second bike advice?

Okay folks, need info from smart people, please.

Currently ride a Street Glide and love it, but due to a job relocation I may be in the market for a second bike/bar bike. I don't want another bagger - I'm thinking something in the old-school stripped bobber or chopped look, preferrably a few years old to save some $$ would be nice, too, but there are so many choices out there I'm feeling kinda swamped.

So - looking for pros/cons of Dynas/Softails and recommendations on what to look for in a second bike. Comfort isn't a huge priority since I won't be making long trips on this one (hopefully). Advice?

Thanks!

BP

I would check out some older dyna's and softails. I know not much help, but your the one who will be riding it. If I were to add another bike I would be looking for an older Superglide or Softail Standard. I can either one becoming a nice bobber project.

I would be thinking street bob or even a sporty the 48 -72 or even nightster would make a fun bar hopper and could be had for cheap if you find a good used one.

Around a 2010 FXDC. Great looking, plenty of chrome, lightweight, good handling, and cheap! $9000-10,000 should get it done.

The 2010 has a 96" engine but with the lighter weight, it will still eat a softail.

Just curious, how does a job relocation necessitate the need for a second bike? Whatever that reason is, may also be the answer to what you need, if anything at all.

Jaburg1, I got the impression from his post, that his commute is going to be much shorter and so he wants a smaller bike (not a full dresser) for this shortened commute.

For all this advise you need to also give up how much you are going to put forth $$$$.

I have owned both a Street Bob and a Deluxe, I prefer the Softail Deluxe. However, the Street Bob is a nice bike and the best bang for the buck in the entire Harley line up.
