Default Tweaked neck

I picked up a Softail from this oldtimer who partied a little too hard and ran it into a wall and tweaked the neck a little (see attached pictures). he told me to untweak the neck, I should stick a 1" pipe through the neck, hit the backbone with a torch to heat it up, and muscle it back straight (he already started heating the down tube and backbone before I bought it. Later I was talking to a fellow mechanic at the cycle salvage yard and he suggested I not use a torch and just use a pipe through the neck and a bottle jack to straighten it. Does anyone have any tips and tricks for me?

Hope you didn't pay more then scrap rate for that. Metal only takes so much twisting and melting before it snaps. I wouldn't ride it.

I would cut it out and send the peace to HD. I was told at one time they would sell you a new frame if you sent them the vin # and I thank it was cut 6 inches down tube and 6 inches on the back bone. I would call first to make shore the still do this.

If the guy you bought the bike from already started heating it to twist it back into shape then stopped and decided to sell it instead, didn't that tell you anything? I would not ride that bike anywhere. Have a pro do it or get a new frame.

EDIT: If you do call Harley to get another frame with that VIN number make sure you get their name and the time and date that you talked to them.
