I have a 2011 Heritage and bought a chrome insert that goes around the transmission cover. I have to loosen a few of the transmission bolts but do not remove anything. Yet, the instructions tell me to remove the maxi-fuse before I start the work. Why is this necessary if I have the key fob for the security system? Also, can I just disconnect the battery instead of removing the fuse? Thanks for any help.
