2012 softail tires
I am about to put on two tires on my 2012 Softail. On my 07 and for the rear on the 12 I have always replaced the tires with the same exact tires as the bike came with and have not any problems. Now Dunlop has these new dual compound Elite tires. I don't know if HD is going to recommend them. I called Dunlop and left a message if they knew if HD was going to OK them and never got a call.
Has anyone put these tires on their softail Heritage classic? Good? Bad? compared to stock tires? thank-you for your input

UPDATE: I did get a phone call from Dunlop regarding the Elite tires for the Softail. The fellow who called could not say whether or not HD would list the Elites as OEM, etc. for the Softails like they do the 401/402 ie. the original tires. However he said the tires have been tested and developed for the bike that I have and will work fine.

My problem with Avons is that they don't make the venoms in my size anymore and they are too damn proud of the Cobras. My next set will be Commander II's.

I've run stock Dunlops on my 2008 Softail Crossbones since I bought it. Over 12K miles out of the rear tires and over 35K miles out of the front tires with great handling and wet weather performance. I see no reason to change to anything else.

My 2012 has 17K miles.
Stock rear Dumflop wore out at 5K (1/32). I got 12k from these Metz but they are showing thread now. Harley want $300 out the door. I ordered from JPCycle, 205 to my door, waiting for them now.

I just installed Mich's commander II last summer,, I wont buy them again..
Next time I am also trying the newer Elite 2nd generations
