2014 breakout alignment/frame issues
I have a 2014 harley breakout I have been having alignment issues with. Upon looking at it with a fine tooth comb because I was told it was my handle bar bushings and wasn't satisfied. I found a shotty weld below the right hand side of the tranny cover. Upon further investigation, I noticed that the left side was smooth with no gap but the right side of the cross member was gapped and a crap weld. My swing arm in off of a vertical access and my front forks will not stay aligned. I decoded the vin and found the my bike was produced in York, PA (B for the 11th digit) I posted on facebook for other breakout owners and so far 2 have the same weld and alignment issues. I'm trying to find out if this may be a broad problem with the production of breakouts in York PA any one else would be a big help thank. Never been dropped layed down at all. Bike goes into the shop Monday and facts would help solve this issue and may help others solve theres too.
You have not found anyone on Facebook with the same alignment issues, only people who have posted images. Also, I don't feel the weld is bad on my bike, which is one of the bikes you have seen images of. I think you are looking in the wrong place for this problem.
The issue with the bike not tracking straight is likely due to the primary being further out on the Breakout vs other Softails. Some experience it more than others due to how their rear wheel is adjusted.
I hope you can solve your issue, but I truly do not believe that weld has anything to do with it.

I'd be pretty pissed if that top picture was my bike regardless. That seems like a pretty half-assed weld

If you have a Softail, that probably is your bike. They are all likely machine welded in the same jigs.
The back tire is no aligned correctly as in up and down which I do not you can adjust I have pictures of 2 new showroom bikes with perfect welds I just took a few days ago. Why am I paying for a half assed job. If I built you a hot rod and it didn't drive right and I did a weld like that would you still PAY ME? the bike goes straight, does'nt handle I believe like it should my bars are adjusted left my forks go right noticeably out of line. For the money they charge I want my bike an welds like the ones I was happy with. To me I paid "full price" for a half assed job. My 6th gear was like riding over a speed bump farm and vibrated like a solid mount rigid at the light in neutral full stop. I looked over the new showroom bikes and none of this was on either. 66,000 bike recall has to make people think maybe we need to step up our game and be the Harley people dream of, not the recall Harley people fear how much it will cost to own. I have had many people look at the bike and even ride it incase maybe I was crazy. THey all respond with wow man that's pretty ****ed.
Yes I have found others who have the same issues guy. Thanks for stalking my life bud. By the looks of your frame you wouldn't know the difference if it handled weird or not
