Painting wheels
Anyone paint their wheels and feel like posting pics AND/OR how they did it?
Might have joe powder them, but for this season looking for a faster cheaper option, then I'll get them to joe over the winter.
Best paint? (Thinking red, but can't find red epoxy spray) Best prep method? Any way to tape and paint without removing wheels - aim and spin while spraying??
Any feedback and advice would be appreciated.
No need for primer. The only special preparations I would do is to wash em well with a good degreasing detergent and spray in thin coats for proper drying. You don't want ur wheels to stay tacky as is the tendency with some of the poorer quality rattle can stuff. You should still see metal under ur first coat. I rattle canned my rotors and pulley 3 years ago and they still look great. Good luck!
EDIT:
Also, if the finish you'll be painting over is smooth or chromed, fine sand paper will be ur friend for a couple hours...
