I would like to lower my 2014 slim and I'm thinking of trying out the kit from softailloweringkit.com - has anyone used these that could comment?
OH MY GOD!!!!!! Gohoticov is going to break a blood vessel... You used the wrong company name!!!!...that's the company that actually makes the kit! LOL.
I have that kit on my bike, I love it. Pretty easy to install without having to take apart shocks. With the right lift, it can be installed very quickly, little trickier with a scissors lift and positioning to get to the shock rods.
Ride will be slightly harsher...and you will bottom out sooner. But don't let that worry you. The look is awesome and you don't have to blow $1300 to get that look.
yea, what he said. did it on mine. didn't get the 2" they said i would, actually only ended up being 1.25 drop (yes i used the correct lowering collars, i got into an argument with the guy to make sure i put the right ones in, and after putting a micrometer on there, i was correct) harsh ride, but you forget about that after a week of riding, you're used to it. i didn't adjust the preload and i haven't bottomed out so all is good. plus my bike is already pretty low from the factory

I wouldn't call it "blowing $1300" If you spent the $1300 (on the shock you are referring to) you would have the best ride you can get on a softy.
Don't hate what you don't have or haven't tried.
Plus.............. you cant get the same look
(I don't want to turn this into a Shotgun Shock thread (I rode with lowering bolts as well before I got the SS and it was okay) - I just didn't see the need for your comment seeing as you don't even own the product so you really have no idea what you are talking about)
What is it with some of the SS people? Always get their panties in a wad when someone doesn't want to spend 13+ large on a frickin shock.
FWIW to the more level headed folks...I've never said anything against the SS...I've even said in the past that it's a good product. My only issue...I just can't see spending that kind of coin on shocks.
But thanks Midgard...for turning yet another lowering thread about a different product into an SS debate. Good grief...it never ends.
