Default Bike Selling Question..

SO i have a 2000 Heritage Softail Classic that has over 1ok invested in it, I have been trying to sell it for about a month now and have not gotten any bites on it what so ever. I have it listed for 10k or best offer, wich i dont think is to unreasonable. I have it on Craigslist, Cycletrader and Quanticoyardsales.com (military resale site) Does anyone have any ideas on what i can do to get this thing moving looking to get a new bike but gotta sell this one first!! Any advice would be very much appreciated. The bike is the one in my avatar i will try to add more of it soon.

Best way is to lower the price. No matter how much you put into it, you are not going to get equal or greater value in return. I see guys on Craigslist say that they spent 15k in upgrades and price it high. Then it just sits there until they lower it and lower it and lower it. Pretty soon their bike is the lowest priced one on craigslist and someone comes and lowballs them even more. Have you checked how much a dealer will take as a trade in?

Just keep working it and be patient. Someone will want it.

YES. Patience is key. Somebody out There wants your bike. Be sure to list it in surrounding communities as well. GLWS.

Give a bit , some one may get the bug when the sun comes back. Sounds like the dealer is low balling you for trade 7K would be more inline I would think, unless your just trying to sell it to them.

try different dealer.,, also if you know what your are buying next, then go to the dealer who has what you are looking for ...

in this way you will have better negotiation power and will save some money on sales tax too...

whatever you have invested in bike to customize it is of your own taste... dont expect others to pay for your taste and liking...i recently bought HD and searched alot on Clist...many folks were asking high price for all customization they have done...but thats not according to my taste.. so why should one pay for that !!!!
