Not sure if anything has been posted on this forum, I checked back in the history and didn't really find anything, but I was wondering if anyone had a GPS on their bike and if so what kind do they have (make adn model) and what their thoughts about it were.
I have been using this one ( http://www.garmin.com/products/spi5/), originally on my Fatboy and now on my Street Glide. It is not a fancy as some but it does the job, fits in my pocket when it needs to and I use it in all of my other vehicles.
I purchased a TomTom rider over the winter but haven't had the opportunity yet to try it out. I can only go by it has received great reviews from other users.
Hey DLX, check with Chops about your GPS. He's on this fourm and check out his page on how to 'diy' He may be able to answer a lot of questions you might have. No knock on anyone else mind you. Peace
Garmin is well liked. I have a friend who lives in the UKwho bought a Tom Tom. His only complaint is that they updated the maps too soon. He went to turn onto an expressway in France and found that they hadn't even started building it yet.
If possible, get one with a monochrome display. The color ones tend to wash out in direct sunlight.
I was looking at a Garmin StreetPilot c550 today for my truck. Bluetooth, color screen that is good in sunlight. Would also like tobe able to use it on my Fatboy. 07 Deluxe, where did you get the mount?
What is everyone using to mount their GPS to their bikes? I have fears my Garmin Nuvi will fall off using their handlebar mount. has anyone found anything that is better then others as far as a mounting bracket?
