Bought the wife a Garmin c550 for her car. She loves it. I no longer get phone calls telling me that she's lost!! I hear that it is the same software wise as the Zumo 550. If that's true I would highly recommend it. The color screen is bright enough that it doesn't wash out in direct sunlight.

I posted several things about my setup - I don't like most mounts due to the ability to easily steal a unit on the bike. I found one mount that is not easy to steal.

If you look at Clueless and 07deluxe's pictures above - all you have to do is walk up and unscrew the large wingnut with your hand and you can pull the GPS off with the top ball attached. Plus - it's black - not chrome. JMHO.

Here's my mount:

Make sure you purchase a chrome adapter from them that fits on top of that plate - it's screwed in - (I don't use velcro) that mates with the Garmin mount.

Little pricey but the looks are unbelievable.

Clueless I use the top of the two pictures for my nuvi and I think it is not going anywhere! I love my nuvi except for one thing. I want to be able to put routes I make in mapsource in so I can follow my route on the gps. Well Garmin says I can not do it with the nuvi and need the Zumo. Well I do not really want to shell out more $ for that so............ I like the portablity of the nuvi.

Gotta' agree with Speedy. The Tech mount looks factory installed. And secure. But you need the Ram mnt. I hate plastic. But it's the only mnt. option out there. As for the g.p.s. Garmin all the way. Been around for years. I have the nuvi myself.
